Winds in the East
Inspired by a gorgeous photo taken by @snapsbysal of the east coast near Canberra, I painted this artwork with a desire to capture something moody, a bit mystical and with a million possible stories.
The sky was where I started and oof is it moody! Next came the water, almost white and slightly churned from the lapping waves.
The mountains and the beach itself gave me the most grief in this process😆 I had to recall back to painting my Impressionists Afternoon in my Cosy Collection and take inspiration once more from the impressionists with more layered and expressive brushstrokes.
And finally the little people, I gave them their own back stories but I’d be interested to know what you come up with.
